535-537 Orange Street, New Haven, CT
This pink and yellow-painted Italianate-style two-family home on Orange Street brings a playful dose of color to the streetscape. With a pedimented roof sheltering a pair of arched windows and a three-story tower (a later addition), designers of this building may have been emulating the prestigious John Pitkin Norris House on Hillhouse Avenue, the Italian Villa style mansion designed by Henry Austin in 1849.
